The East Coast Stock Horse Association is an outreach organization of
Horsemen’s International Ministry.

The Association's desire is to showcase stock horses of all breeds and their riders. We hold five sanctioned shows each year along with one benefit fun show. Contestants qualify for year end awards by competing in three or more sanctioned shows during the show year.

Ranch Trail Ranch Roping Ranch Cutting

Classes at the shows consist of two main types: Stock Horse and Ranch Horse:

Stock Horse Classes - Contestants will complete a reining pattern and individual cow work and include:

Stock Horse (Open, Amateur, and Youth divisions)
Boxing (Amateur and Youth divisions)

Ranch Horse Classes - Contestants may enter in any or all of the Ranch Horse Classes. Those competing in all five classes at each show are eligible for the year end Versatility awards:

Ranch Riding
Ranch Reining
Ranch Cutting
Ranch Roping
Ranch Trail

All classes will be offered in the Open, Amateur, and Youth divisions.

A jackpot Cattle Drive Class will be offered at each show. In this class teams of two riders manuever two cows through an obstacle course. This is a judged class with a time limit for each obstacle.

Finally, the five sanctioned shows are combined with AQHA Special Events. The AQHA classes that will be offered are: Reining and Ranch Riding. There will be Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Youth, and Novice Youth divisions for each of these classes.

Versatility Horse of the Year Award: For the Versatility Horse of the Year Award, points are accumulated on the horse in the Open and Amateur Ranch Horse Classes. Horse must be entered in at least one Open and one Amateur class at the same show, in at least three of the year’s scheduled shows.

Heza Classy Chic Ranch Rail Pleasure Class - We are offering a special Ranch Rail Pleasure class at each of our shows. There is $100 jackpot money for each class donated by the AQHA stallion Heza Classy Chic.

New this Year: Virginia Bred Program - The Association will be launching a special program for horses that have been born in Virginia. Thanks to a generous grant from the Virginia Horse Industry Board, there will be four classes at each show dedicated to the program. All of the money raised from entry fees, stallion nominations, and the VHIB grant will be paid back to those who enter the classes. See our new Virginia Bred page for more details as well as Stallion Enrollment forms.
