The intent of the Ranch Hand of the Year award is to recognize an individual that has made a significant contribution to the Association during the year. The individual would be someone that is a current member of the association and has been an ambassador for the Association, being supportive and displaying integrity and sportsmanship.

The Ranch Hand of the Year nominations are put before the ECSHA members who vote to select the awardee.
